pay last respect to late artiste.
With heavy
hearts late musician, singer and songwriter, Olumuyiwa Adeyemi Osinuga a.k.a
Nomoreloss was laid to rest today Friday, April 8, 2016 by family, friends and
colleagues.
His body was committed to mother earth as he was buried at the
Ikoyi cemetery in Lagos State, Nigeria’s commercial city.
Aged 39, he
has contributed immensely to the growth of the Nigerian music industry and his
death would be felt by the industry.
The singer
was famous for his hit songs "Let them say" and "Iyawo
Asiko". He was married to Adeola Osinuga. They have a daughter. The
singer, the comedian and the compere was ill since January, 2016 and because of
it, he had to take a break from the world of entertainments. The talented
artiste was confirmed dead on Monday, March 21, after battling an illness since
January.
After his
death was made known, Twitter was awash with condolences from people in the
music industry, his fans and other sympathizers.
Family,
friends and showbiz practitioners were present at the funeral to pay their last
respects to the singer while they lent their support to his wife and daughter.
The
39-year-old comedian who passed away after a brief illness on March 21 was
buried amidst tears and an outpouring of love at the Ikoyi Cemetery in Lagos.
Nomoreless’
last major performance was at the August edition of Afropolitan Vibes. He was
on the bill with singers Waje, and Venus Bushfire.
In 2012
Nomoreloss wrote the biggest song of singer Jaywon‘s career titled ‘This Year.‘
In June 2015
he released the album ‘Grass to Grace‘. In 2014 he dropped the album ‘Standing
‘, and ‘Then & Now‘. His debut album was ‘Let Them Say‘ was released in
2006.
Nomoreloss
entered public consciousness in 2002 when he featured in Ruggedman’s classic
cut ‘Ehen‘. Prior to that he was a presenter on the music TV show ‘Groovoidz‘.
A solemn
church service was held earlier in the day at Foursquare Church, Ikoyi, Lagos.
Celebrities
present include Weird MC, Sasha P, Lolo1, Omobaba, MumaGee, DJ Jimmy Jatt,
Koffi, Ade Bantu, Princess, Yinka Davies, Nicki Laoye, Jesse King and a
representative of the First Lady of Lagos state.
With tears
flowing down, celebs mourned the late singer as he was finally sent home.
May who were
present at his burial who commented about his life described the late
comedian's legacy as love. According to him, "His greatest legacy was
love. Nomoreloss loved people. He loved people even to death."
A service of
songs was held in honour of the 'Iyawo asiko' crooner at the Koga Studios in
Ikeja yesterday, Thursday April 7, 2016 with celebrities paying respect to the
late music producer with performances and eulogys.
Yinka Davies
enchanted the audience with her performance of Nomoreloss' 'Oriki' while
Ruggedman, Omo Baba, Yinka Davies, Jafextra, Alariwo of Africa, Daddy Showkey,
Weird MC and others performed his ‘Iyawo Asiko’.
Nomoreloss
is survived by a wife Adeola Osinuga (popularly known as Phoenix) and a
daughter.
May his soul
rest in perfect peace.
